Partially this maybe is a good read for someone else either new to the hobby or perhaps also has had some wondering about the decoder. Partially my experience-reply that the decoder does work. Good place in this reply to add that I see you have been around this hobby for close to the same years I have so I imagine what I post here is well known to you. The station he is talking too (WA7NCL) near Seattle in the next state over from me is skipping over the top of me and barely copy-able so the LCD is not decoding him. Some times I might have to adjust the Shift or Width controls to get back to optimum but that happens with using software solutions too. Certainly signal fading or QRM can dink with decoding but then that happens with my brain too. As I write this, N7VV/Cave Creek AZ is xmitting and again the CW decode is perfect. Actually it works great! Just for drill, I spun down to a CW signal from N7RD on 20 meters when I read your post and watched it decode almost 100% after negative roll of RF Gain to where it should be anyway for optimal signal/minimal noise.
